A BHAKTI MEDITATION WITH YOUR PERSONAL DEITY

 

Once you are feeling a sense of your True Nature, imagine that your personal deity is standing in front of you.  You may be able to see the details of their clothing and face, but it is more important to be able to feel their presence. 

 

Just imagine that it is so.  The deity stands before you.  And from the forehead of the deity comes a beam of white light. The white light enters your forehead and fills your body with white light.  The light purifies the karma of thoughts.

 

A beam of red light shines from the throat of the deity into your throat.  The red light entering your throat fills your body with red light.  The red light purifies the karma of speech.

 

A beam of blue light shines from the heart of the deity.  The blue light shines into your heart and fills your body with blue light.  The blue light of the deity purifies the karma of actions.

 

The blue, red, and white light mingle and merge to become violet light, which gradually and slowly transforms into pure, transparent light.   The light is very bright, so bright that your body becomes transparent.
